Olivander Education are delighted to be in a position to offer a selection of One-Day Workshops on a range of interesting topics. We are always adding to our repertoire so be sure to check back regularly.
We all know the old adage, 'Children should be seen and not heard' right?!
At Olivander Education we believe that it is absolute rubbish and we want young people to not only be seen, but be heard loud and clear.
We stand ready to deliver a day of activities that will equip your learners with the skills they need to raise their voice and make themselves heard.
Featuring workshops on 'knowing your own mind', 'debating respectfully', 'being persuasive in your writing' and 'speaking clearly', this one day workshop is aimed at reminding Key Stage 2 and 3 children that they have a voice, and equipping them with some of the tools they need to use it. Everybody needs the chance to stop once in a while. Children are no different.
At Olivander Education we specialise in preparing and providing opportunities for young people to take a break from normal school activities, and gather together for a period of calm and reflection.
Sessions can be adapted to your school's own religious character, and will be led by qualified and experienced primary teachers. All resources will be provided by Olivander education, with activities likely to include simple craft, symbolic activities and plenty of opportunities for children to express themselves in a caring environment. How does Government work? Laws are passed, governments make decisions, the lives of ordinary people are changed.
But how much do people really understand about British Government and the democracy we live In?
A politics graduate, our founder believes that everyone should know about how democracy works in our country. So our mission is to educate young people to realise that politics isn't something that is done to you, but something you can be involved in.
This one-day session, aimed at Key Stage 2, will use games, role play and lively debate to explore how democracy in Britain came about, before exploring how laws are made and governments created. Click Here to Find Out More
